Effusive Films is a female-centric entertainment company run by wife and husband team Michal Sinnott & Joseph Schollaert out of their Virginia mountain home. The writing and producing team makes diverse, entertaining, enlightening, commercial feature films and television with a lens towards social equity in spirit and execution that shed light and shift consciousness in order to help heal our fractured world. 

Effusive Films’ canon centers women in front of and behind the camera and places and fosters women in leadership roles. Michal & Joseph’s female lead first feature, Unpacking, is 100% Popcorn Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and streams AmazonPrime & Tubi. We believe that activism goes hand in hand with the films we create. We strive to elevate, celebrate, invest in, and work alongside the communities that are featured in our films.
